There is a mechanical puzzle box, built by a mad clockmaker in 1744. The box is said to produce curious lullabies and music at certain configurations, and to bend the fabric of space/time at others. It is a fascinating and highly dangerous knickknack. The client believes these configurations are meant as distractions and traps to keep one from solving the puzzle box, and opening a window into a realm of ultimate knowledge. She wants an exceedingly clever agent sent to solve the puzzle. It goes without saying that bending the fabric of reality is dangerous. But we'll say it anyway; it's dangerous. |
