Initiate the scene of the crime.

Mumbai, India.

A Dragon agent lies in the alley of a slum. A large sniper bullet passed through her throat, from two and a half kilometres away. She never heard the shot. Her mouth is shaped in a half syllable of a word never to be uttered. Blood mingles greasily with neon light in a puddle. Her superiors will suspect the Templars.

Initiate the scene of the crime.

Prague, Czech Republic.

An Illuminati agent lies crumpled on the pavement, far below his high rise balcony. A poor, broken dragonfly. The poison in his martini glass killed him before he reached the rushing, hungry ground. His superiors will will suspect the Dragon.

Initiate the scene of the crime.

Peoria, Illinois.

A Templar agent lies unmoving in a 24-hour fast food restaurant. His head is completely submerged in a still-bubbling deep fryer. Someone sabotaged his exorcism kit by swapping out the holy oil for a useless decoy. He was unable to stop the demon he hunted from possessing his body, unable to stop his Judas legs from carrying him to the fryer, unable to stop himself from fully submerging his head into the sizzling oil. The police officer who will discover this scene will spend months in therapy describing how good it all smelled. The agent's superiors will suspect that the Illuminati did it, or the that Dragon did it to make it look like the Illuminati.

The war between the factions runs hot and cold, sweetling. In these dark days, it has mostly run cold. The Dragon, the Templars, and the Illuminati have grown haughty. They see no serious competition outside their triumvirate.

The big three nominally acquiesce to the rules of the Council of Venice. The centuries grind like diamond teeth, and though much turns to dust, the Council still holds some authority. One secret society, however, does not play by these rules.

The Phoenicians would like the war to run hot. They have prepared. They have amassed. They have done all of this without the restrictions placed on the other factions. The other societies believe them to be mere thugs of the Secret World, but that is because the Phoenicians wish it to appear so. They are an iceberg floating on dark waters. They have hidden, leviathan depths. They are about to surface.
