Mission Description: An abandoned tablet is marked "Mavis Anderson, CDC". The owner is nowhere to be seen, but perhaps its contents can shed some light on what happened here.

Tier 1

Task Description: The area is infested with ak'ab, so the CDC was likely here to gather samples and study the creatures. Finishing their job could be helpful to any remaining researchers.

Objective: Examine Mavis Anderson's tablet

Inspect Mavis Anderson's tablet on the ground.

The contents of the tablet do not appear as a media popup when inspecting the tablet, but they are recorded in the Mission Journal ([J] by default) and can be viewed at any time after.

Objective: Pick up CDC containers

Take 2 of any of the CDC containers in the area. There is one right by Mavis Anderson's tablet (920,65) and three more heading North into the Venous Brood's nests along Joanna's Trail: (915,70), (915,85), and (920,80).

Objective: Gather ak'ab cocoon samples

Objective: Gather Venous Brood Warden samples

Gather 7 ak'ab cocoon samples by destroying 7 ak'ab cocoons and gather 7 Venous Brood Warden samples by killing 7 Venous Brood Wardens.

Gather ak'ab cocoon samples

Gather 7 Ak'ab cocoon samples by destroying 7 Ak'ab cocoons. An Ak'ab cocoon is destructible with 200 HP and has a chance to spawn a Premature Venous Brood upon its destruction. Ak'ab cocoons are often guarded by Venous Brood Wardens.

Samples cannot be collected by any of the hatching Premature Venous Brood.

Gather Venous Brood Warden samples

Gather 7 Venous Brood Warden samples by killing 7 Venous Brood Wardens. Venous Brood Wardens guard Ak'ab cocoons throughout the Venous Brood infested area.

Task Description: The samples have been secured and should be brought to the CDC camp.

Objective: Bring the samples to the CDC van

words go to the CDC van in front of the Franklin Mansion (855,325) to turn the samples in to CDC via their mobile lab van. Marianne Chen would appreciate it.
