Examine the remains of the gift basket.
There are muddy footprints on the ground leading away from the basket. Follow them to their source. Visual tracking has been initiated to make doing so easier.
Upon passing the corner between two buildings near the southern wall (430,415), a sniper strikes.
Follow the direction the sniper's shots are coming from. Be wary of both the sniper and the landmines on the way. A shining light marks the sniper's location in the distance. To avoid being damaged by the sniper, seek something to block their line of sight before they finish their shot.
Once close enough (485,415) to the building the sniper is stationed on, the sniper moves to another roof.
Keep going, following the direction in which the sniper went. The sniper will continue to shoot from the distance all the while.
Once approached, the sniper atop the printing house (530,500) will hop off the building and head toward the wall.
Make chase past the wall, where the sniper can be seen from afar.
Getting close will cause them to run. Go to the buildings the sniper was last seen leaving (490,585). It seems they dropped something in their hasty retreat.
Pick up the tracking device from the ground.
Use the Signal Tracker from your Mission Inventory or Quick Access Bar. Doing so will activate the tracking device and bring up the radar module, causing radar display to blip around you.
Using the radar module, track down the sniper within the shanties of the Foundling Pavilion.
There are multiple possible locations to find the sniper at.
Once the sniper has been located, a short unskippable cutscene will play.
"Gotcha!"
The sniper has thrown a grenade at you!
You have 5 seconds to turn the tables on the ambushing bounty hunter before the grenade in your hand explodes. All the while, you are Rooted in a pile of barbed wire and unable to move.
Having caught the grenade gives the temporary ability Throw Grenade, which by default is keyed to the left mouse button. Using Throw Grenade will allow you to toss the grenade right back at the assailant who thought one of Gaia's Chosen could be dealt with by a simple grenade.
BUG WARNING: Having the Emotes GUI up will make it impossible to use Throw Grenade.
If you fail to turn the tables on your ambusher within the 5 seconds allotted to throw the grenade, the grenade will explode, causing a loss of 25% HP and knocking you down for 5 seconds with the Grenade Explosion debuff. Once back on your feet, you will have to find the sniper again. Reuse the tracker and begin the hunt once more! This will return you to the previous Objective: Locate the sniper.
The potential locations will remain the same, aside from the sniper no longer being in the particular spot you just found them at. He will go back and forth between the first location and one of the two alleys.
Follow the trail of blood left behind by the retreating sniper. Visual tracking has been initiated to help.
Eventually, the bloody trail leads through a broken fence to the back alley of the warehouse (405,720).
Examine the suspicious device left lying on a crate (405,733) at the end of the blood trail.
Inspecting the suspicious device will cause it to ring, exploding a few seconds after unless you get away quickly enough. All the while, barbed wire and landmines will become visible along the alley and a Contract Killer approaches with one goal in mind: to collect on a bounty.
Kill them first.
"You're wanted across the globe."
When reaching less than half health, the contract killer will come to the middle of the alley.
"Don't worry. Bounty's dead or alive"
Once brought even lower, they move again.
"Argh! ...don't matter. Nowhere for you to go..."
A phone has been dropped by the sniper's corpse. Inspect it within 30 seconds.
